Another publisher of the same period was Karl Schwidernoch of Vienna (sse more below).
Both published Gruss aus .. cards (Karl more) but August published a lot of figure and portrait cards, including portraits with real hair attached. Some cards also have a printed
D.H.C. logo on the bottom edge.
The first example must have been printed by Illert & Ewald, Gross-Steinheim-Hanau, a printer who sold this card wholesale.
