Amidon Remy was a brand of starch (amidon is French for starch) produced by E Remy & Cie, a Belgian company founded in 1855 by Edouard Remy. From early times it published a wide range of promotional material, often with an instructive slant. This included posters, trade and calendar cards (like postcards but earlier) and postcards.
