Léopold Verger & Cie, Paris

According to Wikibooks Léopold Verger & Cie was installed before 1914 and during the war at 161 bd Ornano, in Paris; the offices were at 61 Faubourg Poissonnière. The company also published postcards of mainly tourist spots under the Aquaphoto brand, though the brand also included North African ethnic cards. During WW! the firm produced many cards with military subjects.

There is an online catalogue for this firm, with many images. Their production was essentially view cards. The firm was a member of the Chambre.

Verger also printed advertising cards, as for Dubonnet in WW1. On my own first visit as a schoolboy in 1953 Paris was plastered with adverts for Dubonnet, featuring Fernandel.

The "Taube" (dove) referred to in the Dubonnet card here was an early German fighter, only used in combat early in the war, which from below had a very bird-like planform. See for example en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Etrich_Taube and in the Boige entry.
