JOB was a business started by Jean Bardou in 1838 making rice paper for rolling cigaretttes, and later selling cigarettes also. The initial trademark was the letters J and B with a diamond between them, which eventually became JOB.
In the late nineteeth century the company hired artists
to design
advertising posters for the brand. Best known is Alphonse Mucha. (1897).
These designs appeared in other forms including postcards.
There are articles on the company in the English and French language Wikipedias.
