Hans Kohler & Co, Munich

The cards can be mmarked by various combinations of the "palette" logo, the initials "H.K.& Co M." and the company name. The "palette" logo often appears in the stamp box where it can be hidden. In the last example for instance the legend on the cards is 'Edition d/Art "Palette" G.m.b.H. Berlin. Evidently the company became a G.m.b.H at some point.

There is an article on this firm in The Postcard Album no. 25 (see General References). Evidently the firm produced more cards than were sold, as there is information about the use of surplus Kohler cards for advertisements at www.tpa-project.info/html/body_dutch_imprints.html.

Slightly earlier, cards were being produced in Munich by Hubert Kohler.
