CAES was a member of the Neue Bromsilber Convention. Card series 206 has no logo and carries the lagend "Carl A.E.Schmidt, Dresden" on the address side but most cards have the logo as on the first example card, which will be from around 1906.
The model in this card was active 1906-7 and appears on Rotophot and many other cards. The second example is a Rotophot card (RPH 5178, circa 1915) which also has
the CAES logo on the address side, so maybe the firm acted as the Dresden agent for Rotophot.
