Vintage German Postcards and the people appearing on them

This site is one component of the site Vintage Thematic Postcards which includes other reference sites and also smaller collections of cards on a wide-ranging set of topics.

The present collection consists primarily of photographic postcards produced from 1900 to 1930 by the German publishers listed below. The vast majority of the subjects are women and children, many identifiable as performers and others recognisable through their frequent appearance as photographic models. Additionally cards from other publishers (regardless of country of production) have been added where the subject on the card relates to a subject in the German publishers collection. These additional cards are included in the Search All option.

The collections are designed as a guide to show collectors what is available and also to aid in identification by providing images of varying sizes with names of the subject where known.

The collections exclude Rotophot cards with logos RPH and RPH Ross (RPH with a image of a horse) - these are fully covered in the archive section of the Ross Poscards site. It does include cards from the RPH affiliated companies FMK and SBW.

The images in the collection were gathered by Jean Ritsema. There is no intention to infringe on any copyright. If there are objections to any of the images let us know at j_ritsema@msn.com so we can correct the problem.
